Overview
The SSR project, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and carried out from May 2019 to December 2020, aimed to revolutionize the quality of immunization services by employing voice recognition technology to automate record entry, thereby enhancing provider-client interaction.Project Description
The SSR project set out to streamline immunization services by focusing on Urdu as a pilot language, catering to the local population's needs in Pakistan. This initiative utilized an agile methodology, with two teams working concurrently to develop the platform, observe vaccination centers, and test the initial prototype. The primary innovation of this project, the Voice Recognition (VR) App, collects data linked with Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) quality indicators and surveillance data to assess the intervention's impact.
DTDA, employing state-of-the-art voice recognition technology, developed the VR App, which is designed with a user-friendly interface to ensure ease of use for healthcare providers. DTDA's teams conducted active on-site observations at vaccination centers and executed rigorous testing to ensure the prototype's optimal performance and efficacy.
